I thought I would share with you a new SAL that I have joined. It's the Tree of Stitches designed by Abi Gurden at The Stitch Specialists. So far I have done the Cross Stitch, Smyrna Stitch, Eyelet Stitch and most of the French Knots. Then I can start part 5, which is Rice Stitch.

I've now started stitching a Wedding Card for my daughter's friend who is getting married at the end of this month. I've chosen a Hardanger Heart as the main picture. I've even added some pearl beads. I just want to put some other bits on it to finish it off. And here is what it looks like so far.
Today, I have spent a lovely afternoon with my friend Sue. She has decided to take up embroidery. So, she bought round her new purchase of a Rico table cloth, and asked me for help, as she had not done any embroidery for many years. One of the first things we did was sort out the threads into colours and put them onto a thread sorter with the Anchor colour numbers. We then looked at the design and found the easiest bit to start on. I stitch the first petal for her as she watched. She now feels she can do the rest of the flower by herself. I will see her again on Monday and she will tell me how she has got on. Hopefully, I can help her at each stage of the design and most of all, that she enjoys what she is stitching.
Happy Stitching Everyone

Gorgeous Hardanger card and I really like the different stitches in the tree.
It's always lovely to help a friend rejoin the stitchy world!! Grats to you and to her! Your hardanger heart looks really cute. It will make up a lovely card. And your Tree of Stitches is lovely. I love the colors you are using. They're beautiful!!
I'll have to remember to visit this post again because I have some special stitches coming up and I'm a little intimidated by them. This gives me a clue.
I love to hear of people passing on their knowledge - good luck to your friend.
