Stash and updates.

Well, it's some while since I posted.  So, I thought I would update you with what I have been up to and the stash that I have bought during the year that I have not shown you before.  I found some bargains with the Margaret Sherry Anchor kits, which were greatly reduced.  I can't resist a bargain.  The Puffins and Highland Cattle bookmark I purchased on holiday in Scotland.

Next, are some of my UFOs.  I've started a new one!  I'm always starting, but have difficulty in finishing.  It's a Christmas card for my daughter.  A Fizzy Moon design called "Winter Wonderland", from the WOCS Calendar last year.  I hope I have started it early enough and that it will be finished in time.  It's quite big being 78 high and 97 wide.  I think I have a card that it will fit into, well I hope I have!

I've started in the middle, so you can just see the paws.

A little more progress on Popcorn.

Just a little progress on Owl.

-ooOoo-

Here are some photo's of a lovely surprise we saw in our garden on Sunday morning.  Sunday was a hot sunny morning and a fox came to sunbath on our bank in the garden.  As soon as we saw him, the camera came out and we both took lots of photos.  What was a surprise was a neighbours cat came along and frightened the fox away.  But when the cat had gone, the fox came back.

A Finish and Some Stash

WHOOPEE!  I've finally finished stitching my OakHaven Owl SAL.

OakHaven 2011 Owl SAL
So, now that I have decided to make it into a cushion, I just had to go out and get some lovely new fabric for the back.  And yes, it's got lovely Owls on.  While I was there, I noticed lots of reductions, and I came out with more stash at great prices.  Here's a picture of what I got.

The down side is the shop won't be stocking DMC threads any more, which is a shame.

Stash and Finish

It's been awhile since I last posted, but I have not been idle.  I've finished yet another Owl, but this time its in blackwork.  It's from a Counted Blackwork Starter Kit by X-Calibre Designs.  It's called "Little Owl"  and designed by Carol Leather.  I loved this little owl as soon as I first saw it.  But he is not the first blackwork owl that I have stitched.  My first one was an owl by Jane Greenoff and you can see it also here.

I won a giveaway some time ago and it came in the post today.  It came from Megan at Craftly Lil' Witch.  I'm so happy because I've always wanted to stitch these lovely designs.  I can't wait to get my threads together.

"Cardinal Winter" by LHN.

My friend Janet gave me this little Hardanger booklet that she had found in a charity shop, knowing that I would just love it.  You never know what you might find. I've found some wonderful charts and kits in charity shops in the past.

What a lovely Surprise!

The postman called yesterday with a package.  I was not expecting anything.  Oh, what a lovely surprise!  I had entered a "giveaway" from "New Stitches" Magazine and won.  I had won a new Sampler Kit by Moira Blackburn called "How to sow beans".

"How to sow beans"

"Time and Season Sampler"

I just love samplers and have already started another one of her kits called "Time and Season Sampler".  I purchased this one over 17 years ago, but for some reason had stopped.  So I got it out of my WIP stash and have started again.

This is how I found it on 6 January 2011.

Well, since then I have been stitching away and enjoying every minute of it.  It's grown quite a lot in a week.

I will post a picture once a week to show you how it is progressing.
