Stash and Finish

It's been awhile since I last posted, but I have not been idle.  I've finished yet another Owl, but this time its in blackwork.  It's from a Counted Blackwork Starter Kit by X-Calibre Designs.  It's called "Little Owl"  and designed by Carol Leather.  I loved this little owl as soon as I first saw it.  But he is not the first blackwork owl that I have stitched.  My first one was an owl by Jane Greenoff and you can see it also here.

I won a giveaway some time ago and it came in the post today.  It came from Megan at Craftly Lil' Witch.  I'm so happy because I've always wanted to stitch these lovely designs.  I can't wait to get my threads together.

"Cardinal Winter" by LHN.

My friend Janet gave me this little Hardanger booklet that she had found in a charity shop, knowing that I would just love it.  You never know what you might find. I've found some wonderful charts and kits in charity shops in the past.

Primera

Oh, I just had to let you know that I got some mail in the post today, which is always exciting.  It was from Bea of Bea's Stitcheries.  She had a little "Spot the Picture" which was is the wrong place and also you had to find her e-mail address.  Well, I was the first to find them both, and the prize was the chart of the picture.  And here it is.

I'm looking forward to stitching it, but it will have to wait awhile as I have quite a few other items on the go, with SALs, WIPs and UFOs.

Celtic Knot

I've finally finished my "Celtic Knot" by Textile Heritage.  I was pleasantly surprised how quickly it started to grow, once I had stitched the blue border lines around the design.  That was the tricky part, as it is so easy to stitch too many.  Once done, I sailed through everything else.  It was a great little kit to stitch on the train and stitch in the evenings.  And here it is mounted in the card provided.

Hardanger Blog with Freebies and Tutorials

I thought I would share with you a blog I have found on Hardanger.  It's in Spanish but there is a translator you can use.  Here is the link http://carpacar.blogspot.com/.   Mamen has also just won the Nordic Needle Hardanger Embroidery Design Contest.  She gives tutorials and you can download her designs from her bog.  She is a very talented lady.  Well worth looking at.

May Owl SAL

Welcome to my new followers. I'm always very surprised when I see more people are following me and I'm very grateful. Well, my posting today in the May Owl from the Oak Haven Designs SAL. At least I have managed to stitch it in May.  But as usual, I can't wait to see the next one, so I will have to be patient.

I've almost finished my Celtic Knot, so watch this space.

April Owl Finished

Welcome to all my new followers.  It's always a lovely surprise to see new faces, and extra special when I've only just got back from being away for a few days.

Well as promised, here is my Oak Haven April Owl finally finished.

April Owl SAL

Oak Haven Owl SAL

Well, I've just been touring around Norfolk, and the place I've been staying at have mallard ducks with lots and lots of ducklings.  As usual, my camera was with me and here are just some of the photo's I took for you to look at.

Aren't they just so cute!

While I was away, I did do some stitching.  I've been doing a miniature "Celtic Knot" by Textile Heritage.  I've almost finished, I just need to do some backstitching and a few extra stitches.  Unfortunately, the lighting was not good and I could not stitch too long at night.  So watch this space for an update.

A Walk In The Woods

I went out today with a group of friends for a nice country walk in the woods.  If you know me, you will know I will be taking photo's of everything about me. We did have a spot of rain, but the canopy from the trees kept us dry most of the time.  We really need the rain.  April has been so dry.

Dandilion

Here is my favourite Dandilion.  The seeds are like a pincushion.  You can see clearly where they were, before setting off on a journey to seed themselves.  They look so soft and fluffy.

Here are some of the other photo's I took on the walk.

Bluebells
And here are some of the bluebells in the wood.  These remind me of my childhood and the bluebells that grew in the woods at the end of my garden.
