"Waiting for Santa" and "Ice Skating Penguin"

Hi Everyone

I've just finished stitching Margaret Sherry's new freebie "Waiting for Santa".  I just love her cat designs.  He's just so cute, I had to stitch him straight away.  Fortunately, I had all but one of the Anchor colours, but I found a similar colour to replace it.

I've also stitched an Ice Skating Penguin from "Enjoy Cross Stitch at Christmas!"  Issue no. 1, which came out in 2008.  This magazine supplied all the threads and aida fabric.  I used the threads provided and hated them.  I also used three strands instead of two, so that it covered the fabric better.  I love the designs but not the threads.

I'm Back!!!

Sorry that I have not been around for a while!!  My computer crashed on me!!  It's up and running again.  But I have not been idle as I've two finishes for you to see.  Both are Little House Needleworks Designs and are the first I have stitched by them.  I just love them and can't wait to do some more.  I just love Christmas!

SURPRISE!

I had a wonderful surprise phone call the other week, from my daughter saying that she had just got engaged.  So I have been busy stitching an engagement card especially for them.  All in her favourite colours, and here it is.

A surprise also awaited me this morning.  The doorbell rang and the postman had a small package for me.  I wondered what could be inside!  I soon opened it and found I had won a Giveaway from "Cross Stitcher Magazine".  Inside was 8 Christmas Cross Stitch kits and 2 packs of 10 cards to put my stitching in.

Santa Finished

Everyone is doing ever-so-well  with the Christmas SAL on Margaret Sherry Lovers Blogspot.  I have also finished my Santa.  I have really enjoyed stitching the pair.  I have decided not to put a pompom on top on them.  I think they look good either way.

Snowman, Holiday and Pictures

Hello Everyone

It's been some time since I last posted.  I've been away in Hunstanton, Norfolk again (3rd time this year).  The weather was amazing.  We are having an "Indian Summer" at the moment.   I've finally put on my summer clothes as its so hot.  The only thing I missed was packing my sun hat, I just had to do without it, so I kept in the shade, when ever I could.  And there was I stitching a Snowman, which I have now finished.  It's a Margaret Sherry Designs and I have stitched it on blue aida and not red, to make it stand out better.  I'm now stitching Father Christmas to complete the SAL on the Margaret Sherry Lovers Blogspot.

I thought I would share with you the photo's I took of the wonderful sunsets over the sea while I was away.  One of them shows the sun going through a cloud, which makes it look like something from outer space!

The other Saturday I went for a walk with a group of friends to Redmires Reservoir, and here are just some of the photo's that I took.

And once again I saw the Sunflowers in the school yard and I just had to get my camera out to take them.
