June Update!

Hi Everyone

I'm a bit late in updating the IHSW, but I'm finally here.  I said I would show you each stage of the stitching of my Hardanger hearts, so here they are:-

1 of 3 Finished Hardanger Heart with Square filling together with pearl beads.

Kloster blocks in place.

Algerian Eye Stitch in place.

Threads cut and removed.
Woven Bars and Square filling stitch done.
2 of 3 Hardanger Heart finished with  Square and Dove's Eye filling together with pearl beads added.
3 of 3 Hardanger Heart finished with Square and Dove's Eye filling together with pearl beads added.
Hardanger Heart with threads removed and pulled, awaiting filling stitches.
First motif on left is a Blanket Stitch Flower.  The middle motif is Edelweiss Stitch.
All 3 motifs now finished.  Left - Blanket Stitch Flower.  Middle - Edelweiss Stitch.  Right - Lacy Needlewomen Medallion.

I have not been very happy with the Edelweiss Stitch and I have re-stiched it 3 times already.  I think I will re-do it again until I'm happy with it.

All of the above are going to be for Wedding/Wedding Anniversary Cards.  All I need to do is find some cards to mount them in.  I will eventually show you them when they are finished.

Now for something different.  Here is a finish.  A Christmas Angel cross stitch design by Permin.

Christmas Angel design by Permin.  Now Finished.

Those are gorgeous! It always looks so scary to cut the threads on pieces like that. But you cutting is perfect and the extra stitches afterwards are as well.

Thank you Annie. You just need a good pair of scissors to get it right and enjoy the needle weaving of the extra stitches. The more you have ago at Hardanger the easier it gets. Start with a small piece first and have ago as the different filling stitches. Thanks again for your encouragement.

Great work on your hardanger. I'm fine with all the stitching and cutting but it's the weaving that I find harder to do neatly and evenly. The Edelweiss stitch looks very complicated indeed.
